What is Sangh Shiksha Varg?

It is the series of residential training camps held by Sangh in different parts of country, mostly in summer vacations. Over the years it has developed in a full-fledged course. There is seven day Prathamik Shiksha Varg held at district level. The first and second year training camps, Pratham and Dwitiya varsh varg are held at State level. The third and final year’s camp is held at Nagpur where participants from all over Bharat converge.

What is the training given in Sangh Shiksha Varg?

The training given is focused on making effective social workers. First and foremost, Swayamsevaks are trained to run the Shakha of Sangh effectively, thus making them capable of propagating the Sangh work. Debates and discussion on various issues help the participants to orient themselves towards issues and problems facing the society and the approach to resolve them.

What is the daily schedule of Sangh Shiksha Varg?

The training schedule is quite rigorous. A typical day starts at 5 am and ends at 10 pm with preplanned programs for every day.


5:30-5:45: Wake up call. Freshen up and head for Sanghsthan.

5:45-7:00: Reach the Sanghsthan and engage in physical training.

7:00-8:30: This time is reserved for freshening up again and it is then followed by breakfast.

8:45-12:00: In this period, with little bit of variation, speeches and discussions are arranged according to age groups, occupation, education, responsibility in Sangh, language etc. In Sangh parlance they are called Bouddhik karyakram.

12:00-14:30: It is lunch and rest time.

14:30-17:00: Bouddhik Karyakrams continue.

17:30-19:00: It is time for Sanghsthan again for physical training.

19:00-20:30: time for freshening up and dinner.

20:30-21:30: evening program. Usually of Bouddhik type. May include group singing of patriotic songs, presentations on various informative subjects etc. 

21:30-22:00: This time is free and you can do whatever you like. Again, you can sleep early or talk and while away the free time. At 10pm, it is lights out and you"ve got to sleep and wait for the next day to begin.

What are the subjects of training?

The subjects for physical training include drill, Yogasana, various group games, self-defense techniques including a primary training in a variation of martial arts. The training of Ghosh, or the musical instruments section is optional.
The subjects for Bouddhik training include introduction to Sangh thought, history, general history of the nation, various social issues etc.

What are the expenses of the Sangh Shiksha Varg?

Every participant, including the trainers and teachers who have spared time for the camp and act as resource persons, bear their own expenses. By a general estimate, the expenses are distributed per person and all of them voluntarily contribute. The living conditions are Spartan, mess and other necessary services are also run by Swayamsevaks who have completed such training camps earlier.

Who can participate in the Sangh Shiksha Varg?

The entry to all of these camps is by invitation only. The Swayamsevaks who have joined and are attending the Shakhas are invited to attend the camps by the senior functionaries of Sangh.
