Younger generation joining Sangh in large numbers – Sri Arun Kumar
Sri Arun Kumar was speaking at a Press-meet on an occasion of the ongoing `YojakVarg’ (Organisers Camp) at SR Engineering College, Ambabai.
He said that since 2010, the activities of the Sangh are steadily increasing, as there is more acceptance and positivity in the society towards Sangh’s activities. This growth is also reflective of numbers, where there were 40000 Shakhas in 2010, it has increased to 60000 in 2019. People have shown keen interest in knowing about Sangh activities and are connecting with Sangh.
In the period between 2012 to June 2019, more than 6 lakh people have shown interest via online in connecting with Sangh. In the year 2018 alone, 1.5 lakh people have joined Sangh and in just last 6 months of this year 2019, 67000 people have showed interest to associate themselves with Sangh.
Sri Arun Kumar, while explaining the Shakha figures, stated that, the 6000 Shakhas are attended by Swayamsevaks of the age group of 40 years and above, while 16000 Shakhas are attended by Swayamsevaks between the age group of 20-40 years and 37000 Shakhas have school and college going students. He stated that the new generation is taking great interest and joining Sangh. In the entire country, a series of 1000 training classes (“Prashikshan Varg”) are being held, and about 1,25,000 people are attending the 7-day preliminary training camp every year. Looking at this phenomenal growth and acceptance of Sangh, the society’s expectations are that the Sangh reaches every section of the society and that the social evils are eradicated.
He stated that observing the serious environmental crisis in the country, Sangh has decided to take up activities of Water Conservation, Tree planting and Afforestation, and Plastic ban - avoiding plastic usage as much as possible.
Similarly, Cow protection and service is an integral part of village development and Sangh is keenly focusing on this issue. Sangh is coordinating and working together with various religious, social and other organizations to build social harmony and goodwill among various communities in the society.
He said that, “Family” as a primary unit is the strength of our society and Sangh is strengthening this foundation by enhancing the Teachings of Family Values. As Sangh’s work is growing, the expectations from society towards Sangh are also proportionately increasing; which is why Sangh has started the Training Modules five years ago to increase the capacity and quality of work of “Karyakarthas”. The foundation for Sangh’s activities is the “Karyakartha”.
He stated that Sangh has structured 300 Zones/ Vibhaags and 800 Districts/ Zillas to streamline it’s work in the entire country. About 9000 Karyakarthas drawn from the districts and the layers above, and 1000 Karyakarthas drawn from Pranths and Kshetras have been trained in the last 5 years. In the ongoing exercise of `Yojak Varg’, about 140 Karyakarthas are participating.
In response to a question he said, social harmony and goodwill should increase in the society. Sri Narendra Kumar Thakur, Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh, and Sri Anil Srivastav, Sah Pranth Kaaryavah were present on the occasion.
